EFI LIVE : ERROR CODE $2081Updated 2 years ago

This error code is common and it comes from time to time, it is a very fixable issue! Lets try the following.

(1) Check Point #1 ( Most Common Issue )

Is the ignition turned on to the "run" position? (ENGINE OFF/ACCESSORIES ON)

This error code appears when the keys are not set on the RUN/ON/ACCESSORIES ON position, this is because the EFI LIVE is not getting sufficient voltage to the device, when the ON POSITION is engaged, this error code should disappear.

  • First Check if it is in the ON/ACCESSORIES ON position, if it is not, go back to the EFI LIVE main settings, put your keys in the correct position, then navigate back to the tunes.

  • Once confirmed you are in the right position, attempt to install the tunes again. If the error persists, go to (2)

(2) Check Point #2 ( Takes trial and error)

You have confirmed the keys are on the ON/ACCESSORIES ON position but you are still getting an error message. If you have a 2018+ model, please ensure that your Bypass cable is connected correctly. Here is a link to assist you with the connection

  • Check if the connections are correct, then try to install the tune, if the error persists, go to the next step

  • Make sure the connections are firmly in place , then try to install the tune, if the error persists, go to the next step

  • Attempt to reverse the connections, sometimes the factory pins the wires to the incorrect location. Reverse the connection then try to install the tune, if the error persists, go to the next step

  • Try different slots nearby and try to install the tune again.

If the error still persists, please go to the next step.

(3) Check point #3

If you have tried (1) and (2) but still no luck, Please fill out the support form here : Create support ticket  and send us the following information, we will take a deeper look into your issue. You may need a revised tune file.

In order for us to properly address your issue, we kindly ask that you provide us with the following information:

  • Your Order Number + Full name used on Order.

  • Year/Make/Model

  • Complete VIN

  • Transmission (68RFE, AISIN, G56, ALLISON)

  • Transfer Case Type: Manual or SOTF

  • Fuel Tank (Single or Double)

  • Tire Size (GM or Chevrolet only)

  • Modifications

  • AutoCal Serial Number (located on back of device)
