Loading EFI LIVE TUNES on your DeviceUpdated 4 months ago
This article here will lay out all of the steps required to load your EFI LIVE tunes onto your truck.
Our EFI LIVES are not preloaded and will require you to load up the tunes onto your device first. We will send you an email containing instructions and a .bbx file (TUNE FILE ) to load onto your device.
To make sure you don't run into any problems with your EFI Live delete tuner, make sure your computer or laptop meets the minimum system requirements.
Software: EFI Live Scan & Tune Software V8. Download it for free at EFI Live's website.
Operation System: PC or Laptop with Windows10 or 11. Not compatible of Macintosh or Linux.
Connectivity: One available USB port to connect the EFI Live tuner to your computer.
Display: We recommend a standard monitor or laptop screen.
Storage: Minimum of 1GB of available hard drive space.
THE PROCESS
The delete tune will be attached as a file ending in .bbx and is attached to the email we sent you.
You will then need to download this attached .bbx file and install it into your EFI Live device, using your computer.
The process is rather simple - however, it will require you to read the instructions, so please do take the time to carefully read the instructions below to ensure a streamless installation!

Step 2 : Download the EFI LIVE V8 SCAN & TUNE SOFTWARE to your computer

Please note, you will require a Windows 10+ computer to use this software. MAC,LINUX OS is not compatible.
Step 3 : Plug your EFI LIVE into your computer with the supplied USB cable!
Once you receive your EFI LIVE programmer in the mail, connect the device to your computer with the supplied cable.
STEP 4: OPEN THE EFI LIVE V8 SCAN & TUNE SOFTWARE on your computer.
Open the EFI Live software on your computer that you just downloaded in Step 2.
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR AUTOCAL FIRMWARE PRIOR TO LOADING YOUR NEW OFF-ROAD TUNE FILE. NOT DOING SO MAY CAUSE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES AND DAMAGE YOUR ECM:
1) Select "Check for Updates" on the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software homepage. If your software is out of date, please select the option to update.
2) Select "Check Firmware" on the EFILive V8 Scan and Tune software homepage. On this window, please choose the option to update the Firmware Version and the Configuration Files.
Once these steps are completed, you should be able to now re-program your AutoCal device.
Step 5: Loading up the tune file attached to this email onto your EFI LIVE!
If you have not already, please go back to step one and watch the video and follow along!
The Quick Setup is the quickest and easiest way to program all files required to
make AutoCal functional.
1. Save the *.bbx file(ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL ) your tuner sent to the folder:
\Documents\EFILive\V8\BBX (Or, in your Downloads/Desktop folder)
2. Connect AutoCal to your PC and open V8 Scan and Tune software.
3. Navigate in the V8 software to [F5: BBX]->[F6: Quick Setup]
4. Select [Open Quick Setup] and navigate to the directory and select the
*.bbx file your tune provider sent you.
5. Do not modify any of the settings defined by your tune provider unless they request
you to.
6. Select [Program Quick Setup] to program device settings, controller
configuration and tune files to your AutoCal.
*If you have a 2018+ Cummins off-road vehicle, please remember to install the bypass cable prior to re-flashing your truck*
Step 6: Install the EFI LIVE tuner to your truck!
