SOTF Duramax DSP5 Switch InformationUpdated 2 years ago

Here are the power levels for the SOTF switch for the Duramax. There is also a PDF attached to this article for instructions on how to install.

The switch has 5 positions, and each position will change the +HP rating!

From left to right :

Level 1: "Stock" +0HP. Ideal for daily driving, towing, and best MPG.

Level 2: +30HP. Ideal for daily driving, towing.

Level 3: +65HP. Ideal for daily driving, towing.

Level 4: +100HP. Ideal for performance applications.

Level 5: +130HP. Performance applications. Other modifications recommended.**

**To run the higher +HP tunes, we suggest that you have a built transmission, EGT sensor probe with monitor, and an injection pump upgrade. Head studs would also be a recommended upgrade.

These are our suggestions but I would suggest that you also speak to a professional diesel mechanic to get a better overview of the upgrades required for a higher horsepower gain.

After you install the SOTF switch, you will have access to the different power levels. If you do not install the switch, it will be as if you are on position 1 on the switch.

Here is a great video to help you with the installation

Installation

The switch will have two wires with pre-crimped pins, it does not matter which coloured wire goes into which pin as long as you use the two pins listed below.  Your ECM is located in the engine bay, you will need to run the wires from the ECM connector through the firewall into the cabin to the location you will be mounting the switch.

2001-2004 LB7: Blue ECM ConnectorPin # 49 & pin # 69

2004.5-2005 LLY: ECM connector labeled J3Pin # 32 & pin # 50

2006-2010 LBZ/LMM: ECM connector #1 (The bigger of the two)Pin # 46 & pin # 54

2011-2016 LML: Gray ECM connector J3Pin # 11 & pin # 35

After you've installed the pins into the correct connector location, plug the connector back in and turn the ignition to ON. Press the small white test button on the back of the switch, if one of the LEDs light up you likely have the pins in the correct location.  If none of the LEDs light up you should check your wiring.
